Higher Education-Bachelor & Asscoiate Degree
The Victorian State Government through the Higher Education and Regulation Division (Office of Training and Tertiary Education, Department of Education and Training) is responsible for higher education within Victoria.
The Higher Education and Regulation Division manages the approval process for higher education in TAFE institutes following changes to legislation in 2003. The legislative changes allow Victorian TAFE institutes to offer bachelor degrees in specialist fields to full fee paying students in their own right.
TAFE institutes offer higher education in accordance with the requirements of the Tertiary Education Act 1993. Courses offered are equivalent in standards to those offered by public universities and comply with the Australian Qualifications Framework descriptors for the award.
