Introduction to Sydney Institute of Business and Technology
The Sydney Institute of Business and Technology (SIBT) operates on Macquarie University campus offering Foundation Studies (Pre-University) and University level Diplomas.
Since 1996, SIBT and Macquarie University have worked together to provide the leading pathway program in Australia. With over 3,000 students, SIBT has become a popular choice for both Australian and International students, providing an alternative entry to university studies and a guaranteed pathway into the second year of a Bachelor Degree at Macquarie University.
Located on Macquarie University campus, SIBT students have access to all the university services and facilities, including one of the best undergraduate libraries in Australia, sporting facilities and clubs, student associations and accommodation service.

- SIBT was established in 1996.
- The first semester intake was in March 1997, with 186 students. Currently SIBT has more than 3000 students (32% Australian and 68% overseas students).
- Over 90% of SIBT graduates commence a Bachelor Degree at Macquarie University

- Over 8,000 SIBT graduates have continued their studies at Macquarie University
- SIBT has been working in partnership with Macquarie University for ten years
